Bangalore Fort

Constructed in 1537, the Bangalore Fort began as a mud fort built by Kempe Gowda I of the Vijayanagar Empire. In 1761 Haider Ali renovated the mud fort into a stone fortress.

The ruin and remains of this Tipu stronghold are located near Krishnarajendra Road. A marble plaque marks the spot where British army breached the walls of Bangalore Fort and captured it during the Third Mysore War (1790-1792).
