Objective of Rabindra Tirtha

To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, WBHIDCO Ltd. had taken the initiative to set up 'Rabindra Tirtha' – a Cultural & Research Institute, which was inaugurated by Smt. Mamata Banerjee, Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal on August 7, 2012. It is spread over an area of 4.89 acres & located in the heart of New Town with facilities including an Auditorium, Art Galleries, Exhibition Halls, Mini Cinema Hall & Music Room. There are also Cottages and Dormitories for providing accommodation to resident researchers.

On Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 50% concession on entry fee will be given to school students visiting in groups of 20 or more.On Friday 50% concession on entry fee will be given to college students visiting in groups of 10 or more.
