Penaeus indicus (Milne Edwards, 1837) - Indian white prawn
Rostral crest elevated with 7-9 dorsal teeth and 4-5 ventral teeth. Adostral groove is distinct, but close to the median groove and reaches almost to the middle of the carapace. Gastro-orbital ridge is well defined and hepatic ridge is absent. Telson is broadly triangular and has a median longitudinal groove which lacks spines.
Color: overall creamy white small specks of blue, legs may be red and the rostral region brown (Bailey-Brock & Moss, 1992).
