Dell Inspiron 8000 Details

This is a big desktop replacement with a 15" screen, nice big keyboard, and lots of ports. I actually bought it here on the Agora many ages ago: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=681491

Specs are:
  • 900mhz Mobile Pentium III
  • Geforce2 Go w/32 MB of DDR RAM
  • 512 MB RAM (upgraded)
  • 30 GB hard drive
  • 15" SXGA screen (1400x1050)
  • 8x DVD-ROM

Despite its age, the machine is in very good condition. Nothing broken, no dents, no major scuffs or scratches. All of the buttons work, as do all of the drives.

However, the battery is completely shot (lasts long enough to plug the cord back in if you knock it out, but not much longer). Replacement batteries can still be found online for at little as $20-ish.

I'm also including all of the original software that came with it, which includes Windows ME and XP install disks. I unfortunately cannot vouch for any of these, since I never used them - I can testify that it runs Linux (first Debian, and then early flavors of Ubuntu) very well.

Here's the machine:

Power Mac Details

The machine is a Power Macintosh G4 800 DP (Quicksilver) from 2001:
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/p ... dp_qs.html

My machine differs from the specs on that page in the following ways:
  • RAM has been upgraded to 1GB
  • No 56k modem installed
  • Internal & external SCSI card has been added
  • The machine will come with no hard drives

Everything worked fine as of the last time it was powered on (which was a couple of years ago).

Here's the machine, and again showing Ye Olde Innards:

SCSI adaptor (back and front):

Original OS and software install disks (OSX 10.0.4, OS9.2.1):

OS9 9.2.1, OSX 10.1.0, AppleWorks 6 (for Mac and Windows!), Hardware Test disk

OSX 10.2.0, Photoshop 6, and Norton Utilities 6.0

OSX 10.4.0

Box of 5 DVD-Rs (I bought these along with the machine - they were ungodly expensive at the time, and I never used a single one. 4/5 are still in the original shrinkwrap. No idea if they're still good :) )

Keyboard, keyboard extension cable, power cable, FireWire cable, USB A<->B cable:

I am asking $50 for the laptop and $75 for the Mac, but am open to offers.

Local pickup only for the Mac, and strongly preferred for the laptop. I'm in the Boston area, accessible by T. I can be very flexible about pickup date and time.

I have beerology feedback here: http://beerology.com/view.cfm?id=1389

Thanks!

Would you consider parting out? In particular, I am interested in the Mac OS9 (9.2.1) and OSX discs. I'm located in Canada, so they would have to be shipped. Alternatively, I have an uncle in Boston (near Wessex or Sussex or something like that) who could pick up.

Essex maybe? North of the city?

free bump. I don't think I need any of this stuff but a law office I work with has some ancient db that is running on old old hardware.

Just out of curiosity; how much for everything, shipped to Michigan, 48315?
Yikes - the Mac et. al. weighs about 50 lbs, for which UPS/FedEx will charge about $40 to ship. The laptop et. al. weighs ~25 lbs, so add another $25 (I would not want to try to pack them together). If you take everything I'll eat the cost of packing materials, so that comes to $190 total.
