The marbled turban or great green turban is commonly distributed in coral reef area of Taiwan and its off-shore islands. The heavy and sized shells have thick and shining layer of nacre resulting in over harvest for artifacts production. This species is becoming extremely rare in Taiwan waters. The thick and heavy hemi-sphere operculum is the prominent character to distinguish this species.
