The Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam will be accepting applications for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) 2022 from 14 March until 1 April.

The JLPT 2022 will be held on Sunday, 3 July 2022 at the Language Centre, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

The JLPT has five levels; N1, N2, N3, N4 and N5. The beginner level is N5 and the most difficult level is N1.

Those who are interested in this test are required to submit the application form to the Embassy no later than Friday, 1 April 2022. The Test Guide, including the application form, is now available at the Embassy of Japan, Culture and Education Section counter. The Test Guide, including the application form, costs 5.00 BND, and the Test Fee is 30.00 BND for each level.

JLPT has been offered by the Japan Foundation since 1984 as a reliable means of evaluating and certifying the Japanese proficiency of non-native speakers. In Brunei, the JLPT was launched in 2008, and it has been held every December since then. Unfortunately the JLPT could not be conducted in December 2021. Instead, the JLPT will take place in July this year.

Further information on the JLPT can be obtained from the JLPT website at: https://jlpt.jp/e/index.html
