Ranjitha stayed in burqa to avoid public glare

The event was held in a choultry (marriage hall) owned by the family of the swamiji’s advocate K V Dhananjay who refused to discuss the subject. He insisted that he was representing Paramahamsa Nithyananda and not Ranjitha. The actor had paid for using the choultry.

Sources told Bangalore Mirror that the venue had been decided by a top astrologer who met Ranjitha in the choultry. “Since she was interacting with mediapersons for the first time after the scandal broke out, it was felt that she needed to do it in an auspicious place. The choultry is considered a place with positive vibrations. All talk about the venue being a five-star hotel and that the actor shifted to the choultry at the last moment were rumours. The actor was never in doubt about the venue.”

Ranjitha fears a threat to life from K Lenin, a former follower of the swami. She has filed a complaint accusing him of attempt to rape, abuse and criminal intimidation.

The event was followed by a press conference by Pushpa A aka Ma Nithya Supriyananda. This gave rise to speculation that Nithyananda would also appear before mediapersons in the coming days.

WHERE WAS ACTOR LIVING?
Sources told Bangalore Mirror that Ranjitha had been staying with a relative at Banashankari for the last one month. Her stay went unnoticed because she would venture out only in a burqa and travel in a vehicle registered in Andhra Pradesh.
A day before the press conference, she had filed a complaint against K Lenin and two others in the Ramanagaram magistrate’s court.

The swami suspects Lenin of leaking the video to mediapersons.

Ranjitha’s elder sister Jyothi and their mother were present at the press conference.

Choultry officials said that none of them was staying in the premises.

Jyothi said that her family had been devastated after the video became public in March 2010. Ranjitha has made it clear that she was not part of the video.

At the press conference, Jyothi was managing the slide show, which included newspaper clippings about Ranjitha’s film career. Among other things, the actor has been honoured with the prestigious Nandi award and had acted in maximum number of films in 2005 and 2006. At one point during the conference, mediapersons saw Jyothi sending a note to Ranjitha.
The actor plans to continue staying in Bangalore at least for a couple of days. Jyothi said that the family had reservations about the media in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
