Mommy and Me :: Andover Mother and Daughter Portraits

I photographed this trio of lovely ladies a few years ago as part of my Mommy and Me mini sessions. I loved getting the chance to spend a few days hanging out with some amazing mamas and their kiddos. For this family, these Andover mother and daughter portraits are something I am sure all three of these ladies will treasure forever. I got some solo portraits of each daughter and a few sweet sister portraits. But the main focus for this session was on mom and her girls. As a mother, I know that it’s not always easy to have the focus be on you. And that oftentimes we are the ones taking the photo, and not always the one in the photo. 

So let this session be my reminder to all the mamas out there: make sure you’re getting in the pictures, too. Your kids will be so grateful to have those photos! And if you’re not comfortable taking a selfie or asking someone else in your family to take the photos for you, let me take them. I do everything I can to ensure that every session is as stress-free as possible, for mom and any kiddos.

Styling Inspiration From These Family Photos

When I look at these photos, the styling feels like a perfect sunny summer day with a light breeze. The flowy dresses, the touch of a print on mom’s dress. Everything is timeless, flowy, airy, and simple. I especially love how this makes these beautiful ladies pop against the green around them. This is one of my favorite styling choices for Andover mother and daughter portraits. You can never go wrong with white for outdoor portraits–especially if your kiddos are old enough not to make too much of a mess! Somehow these white dresses manage to be both classic and preppy, while also being a little bit whimsical. There is something ethereal about a flowing white dress. 

Of course, there are also plenty of options for styling choices for parents who prefer a pop of color. Whether you’re booking a mother daughter portrait session, or a full family Andover portrait session. When it comes to outdoor photos, especially in the spring and summer when there is so much green all around, neutrals are a great option. Blue, white, and brown are always safe choices.
