Their adventurism has seen mankind advance to prosperity. The need for such activity has increased in today’s scientific age and its relevance today. Another outstanding contribution to the cultural glory of the state Government of Karnataka is the establishment of Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing arts university, Mysuru founded in 2008-09. Globalization affects our cultural history this is our motto to nurture, develop, preserve our rich culture. the strongest media to express Human feelings is classical music, dance, folk music and all walks of life underwriters responded to react to the theater and are the mother of membership in the other art forms integration to come up with their uniqueness to the world to preach, the modern and the Monastery practices study and training, giving analytical adaptation in the fields of creativity and Research output, declaring their highness has an outstanding goal.

In doing so, the phenomenon is the realization of the inclusion of music and performing arts in the mainstream of knowledge in the state and nation. As such, having a unique cultural dimension to the educational culture, reaching out to members of the broader society through the use of universal medical record keeping techniques is a matter of great concern and must be prioritized. The intensity of delivering these arts to the wider society through exhibitions also requires systematic racial and intercultural studies. Only a large institution, such as a college, will be able to realize this huge project. It is in this context that the state of Karnataka came into being. Gangubai Hangal University of Music and Performing Arts. Our University has been established with the objective of researching, documenting and preserving the vision of the experts in this field, constantly interacting with the wider society and contributing to intellectual development.

Admission Procedure
Applicants of MPA and D.litt candidates have to clear the Viva test for admission in their choice of programmes. On the basis of the candidate’s performance necessary approvals for admission will be sanctioned to deserving candidate.

Applications received after the due date will only be considered on approval of higher authority.
There shall be no provision for revaluation in respect of entrance examination.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC categories should submit Caste certificate dully attested by a Gazetted Officer. Otherwise, the application is automatically considered under the General Category.
The results of common entrance test will be announced in university notice board before the admission.
The university reserves all rights to accept or reject the application.
Instructions for fees payments:

The entire fees should be paid by the student at the university in Indian currency only through SBI collect portal or DD in favor of Finance Officer Karnataka State Dr.Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing arts University, Mysuru.
The tuition fee, admission fee & other fee will be as per university norms for foreign/NRI students.
In case a student fails to complete his/her course in two academic sessions, he/she will have to pay full fee for the next session to continue the course.
Decision about the admission on payment seat will be taken by the Vice chancellor on the recommendation of admission committee.
Documents required to be submitted along with the application form:

Attested photocopies of mark-sheets and certificates of qualifying examinations.
Proof of date of birth.
Transfer certificate must be submitted in original at the time of admission. On the recommendation from the head of the department, a period of one month will be given to submit the migration certificate.
Caste certificate.
Photo copies.
Additional documents required from Foreign/NRI Students :

Health clearance certificate.
Student visa.
Admission Restrictions:

University will not allow any such student for admission, whose conduct is not conducive to the traditions and academic environment of the University.
Student, who has discontinued in the middle of a programme or failed in the examination, will not be eligible for re-admission in odd semester; such candidate will be allowed for the next academic year.
If a candidate is already a postgraduate degree holder then he/she is allowed to pursue study for another Post-Graduate degree for subject he/she is eligible.
IV. The differently-abled applicants, whose abilities are not found suitable for the course applied for, shall not be considered.

Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University Scholarships and Funding Scholarship as per NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PORTAL 2020-21 Eligibility- The applicant should have secured 50% marks in the last annual Board/Class examination (Not applicable for students studying in 1st std). Annual income of the students’ Parents/ Guardians from all sources should not exceed Rs.1 Lakh for Pre Matric Scholarship. Rs.2 Lakh for Post Matric Scholarship. Rs.2.5 Lakh for Merit Cum Means Scholarship. Student should belong to Karnataka State. Students of Karnataka domicile studying in other states are also eligible to apply in Karnataka.

NSS / Scout
National Service Scheme has come into existence in our university in the year 2015-16. NSS has given us a platform to serve the society and bring happiness and smile on many faces. One of the essential parts for the success of any organization is the acquaintance of its members with the organization, its functions and objectives. We created a hub to deliver services to the society by showcasing our talents. So it’s not simply an association; it’s a reason to achieve our objective and carry on the legacy for the coming years.

Unit of 100 volunteers have been serving through the scheme for every academic year. University has provided opportunity for the students to take part in NSS with curriculum activities. The unit is working like a bridge between the university and society. For the year 2018-19 NSS is serving through conducting Awareness- programs, Health awareness, and adoption of villages, Personality development, actively involved in Swachh-Bharat Mission etc. Special campaign program has inaugurated in own campus. Group of Volunteers widely visited number of places in city and performed street plays, skits and folk song themed with corruption awareness and duties of citizen, importance and significance of active participation in Voting. Successfully conducted election awareness programs. Some important programs listed below,

On June 5th 2018 Celebrated World Environmental Day: Students and staff participated in plantation program which has carried out within campus.
On June 21st 2018 Celebrated International Yoga Day: NSS Volunteers and Students and Teaching, Non-teaching staff Participated in International Yoga day program enthusiastically.

NSS Orientation Program: Orientation program has organised for NSS Volunteers, Dr. Dundayya Pujer gave lecture on aims and Objectives of NSS. Commencement of NSS activities also started on the same day. Nagesh V.Bettkote Vice- chancellor preside the program.
Special Camp: Special camp has inaugurated on 25th March 2019. Prof. Nagesh V. Bettakote, Vice-Chancellor, inaugurated the camp, M.P Varsha, Managing trustee Credit-I society and social worker gave lecture on active participation of citizens in Election Voting.

Being music and performing arts university, it offers a number of facilities to the students as well as faculty members to cater to their needs. Some of the facilities are Hostel, Laboratories, Library, Cafeteria, Sports playground and many more.
