New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Sheila Dikshit, the longest-serving chief minister of Delhi, passed away at the age of 81 on Saturday afternoon after a prolonged illness.
Dikshit was hospitalised in Escorts Fortis in Delhi after she complained of vomiting.
"A multi-disciplinary team of doctors, led by Dr. Ashok Seth, Chairman, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, carried out the advanced resuscitative measures. Her condition stabilised temporarily. However, she had another cardiac arrest and despite all the resuscitative efforts, passed away at 3:55 pm on 20th of July 2019," Fortis said in a statement.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia and Home Minister Satyendar Jain were among those who attended the last rites.

03:59 pm: Sheila Dikshit cremated with full state honours. Leaders across the parties, including Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Arvind Kejriwal, Congress leader Ahmed Patel, paid tribute to the three-time chief minister. Dikshit died yesterday at 3.55 pm due to cardiac arrest. She was 81.
