From his anti-semitic remarks to allegedly verbally abusing his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, the actor’s public image hasn’t recovered from these incidents.
One other incident that has also contributed to the bankruptcy of his public goodwill is cheating. The Braveheart star was once considered to be a faithful husband and good family man, but apparently, that was a lie. He had a tumultuous and passionate affair while still married to his now ex-wife Robyn Moore.
When Mel Gibson Cheated On His Wife Of More Than Two Decades
Radar Online once dropped a bombastic report about Mel Gibson that made everyone’s jaws drop. The site said that the Lethal Weapon actor had a s*xually charged affair with actress Diana Alouise for four months while he was still married to Robyn Moore. The two met at a party in 1988 and then the actor invited her back to his home. When she arrived there in her Porsche, he did something unexpected. Alouise said:
“When Mel saw me, he jumped on the hood of my Porsche, and told me to head to a parking lot! So, I drove on with him clinging to my car for dear life! It was hilarious!”

The two of them then had drinks and watched his film, Mad Max, before jumping into bed where they apparently made love four times, and that too without any protection. However, the mistress doesn’t have any complaints. She said:
“It seemed really natural. He was such a sweet and funny guy and a caring lover. Looking back, it was maybe not the best thing to do but I just went with the flow.”
However, Gibson and his wife didn’t separate immediately after this incident. Their separation happened in 2006.
Mel Gibson Admitted He Was The Reason Why His Marriage Fell Apart
Mel Gibson was married to ex-wife Robyn Moore from 1980 to 2011. They separated in 2006 and divorced in 2011. It’s alleged that the reason for the separation was The Patriot star’s drunk driving incident in 2006 where he spouted antisemitic comments during the arrest. During the divorce filing, the pair cited irreconcilable differences. In an interview with Jay Leno, the Hot Seat star admitted that he was the reason why his marriage failed.
He said:
“Look, when it’s all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself.”
Robyn Moore is the mother of seven of Gibson’s kids and at the time of their divorce, she took $425 million, which is half of the actor’s $850 million wealth with her. It is one of the largest divorce settlements in the history of Hollywood. Currently, the Forever Young star is dating Rosalind Ross who is 34 years younger than him.
