Solanum elaeagnifolium, commonly known as silverleaf nightshade or silver-leaved nightshade, is a perennial shrub native to North America, particularly prevalent in the southwestern United States and Mexico. Here's a description of its key features:

Appearance: This plant typically grows up to 1-3 feet tall, though it can sometimes reach heights of up to 6 feet. It has a bushy, spreading habit with multiple branches. The most distinctive feature is its leaves, which are narrow, lance-shaped, and covered with a silvery-gray fuzz. The flowers are star-shaped and can be purple or occasionally white.

Habitat: Silverleaf nightshade is often found in disturbed areas, along roadsides, in pastures, and in open fields. It prefers dry, sandy, or gravelly soils but can adapt to a range of soil types. All parts of the plant are toxic.
