Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Hits New All-Time Peak of 1.8 Million Concurrent Players

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been on a great run lately, as the game has managed to break its all-time peak concurrent players record on Steam.

The new record, which was set on May 6, comes in at an all-time peak of 1.8 million, absolutely smashing the previous number. The previous record marked a peak of 1.5 million concurrent players, according to SteamDB.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive comes second only to Krafton's PUBG: Battlegrounds in the most played games list. PUBG: Battlegrounds recorded a staggering 3.5 million all-time concurrent players peak five years ago.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a title that released all the way back in 2012, and has been going strong for the past 11 years. The game hit a rough patch in the middle, but has managed to crawl back to its original glory in recent times.

It was also recently reported that Valve earned over $11 million through new in-game items from CS:GO. CS:GO has also managed to recover its original thanks to the announcement of the highly anticipated free-to-play sequel, Counter-Strike 2.
