    Description
    Amphibious annual herbs. Leaves dimorphic; submerged leaves deeply dissected with flattened or capillary lobes; upper leaves decussate to whorled, variously dissected, 5-15 x 4-6 mm, linear-lanceolate, base cuneate, margin serrulate, apex acute, basally 3-nerved, chartaceous, subsessile. Flowers solitary, axillary; pedicels to 1 cm long. Calyx membraneous, c. 5 mm long, lobes as long as the tube, linear-lanceolate. Corolla 8-10 mm long, tube white, mouth yellow with purple shades, lobes orbicular. Stamens 4. Ovary c. 1.5 mm long, ellipsoid. Capsule c. 3 mm long, ellipsoid or sub-globose. Seeds angular, small, numerous, black.
