Morphology
A bulbous scapose herb, 15-40cm high, Bulbs spherical 10-19mm in diameter. Leaves in rosette, 4-7 per bulb, linear 5-25cmX0.3-0.4cm, deeply channelled. Scape 1.5-4cm teretem glabrous, racemes 4-10cm long, 2-8 flowered,; floral bracts broadly ovate, scarious, acuminate. Flowers pedicellate, shining white, 13-18mm long 14-19mm in diameter when fully opened; pedicel 5-10X1 mm. Perianth lobes, outer whorl oblong to elliptic, inner lobes constricted in the middle, form a flask shaped structure with tips spreading. Capsule distinctly 3 lobed, seeds 2-5 per locule, ovate to elliptic, rarely semicircular, brownish black in colour.
