Singham actor Ravindra Berde passes away after long battle with throat cancer

Veteran Marathi actor Ravindra Berde passed away on Wednesday after a long battle with throat cancer. He was 78. The actor passed away at his home in Mumbai after he suffered a heart attack.

As per an ABP report, the actor was being treated for throat cancer at the Tata hospital for the last few months and was discharged a couple of days ago. He was the brother of late actor Laxmikant Berde, who was a popular face in both Hindi and Marathi cinema, and appeared in films such as Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun.

Ravindra Berde worked actively in the Marathi cinema and also made a few special appearances in Hindi films like Anil Kapoor starrer Nayak and Ajay Devgn’s Singham. In Singham, he essayed the role of Zamindar Chandrakant.

As per reports, Ravindra had earlier also suffered a heart attack in 1995 while he was acting in a Marathi play. He survived it but in 2011, he was diagnosed with throat cancer. However, he continued working in showbiz and ended up starring in over 100 Marathi films, the most popular ones being Shodh, Khatarnak, Yeshwant, and Khilona Bana Khalnayak.

Ravindra Berde is survived by his wife, two children, a daughter-in-law and a grandkid.
