Only last month, Banerjee had suffered a “major” injury on her forehead after slipping at her residence. “She was walking in her drawing room when she suddenly slipped and fell down, and her head hit a glass showcase. This led to a deep cut on her forehead and profuse bleeding,” a senior TMC leader said.
Earlier in January, she escaped with minor injuries after a car accident was averted during her tour of East Burdwan on January 24. Near the Burdwan city, her convoy encountered what she claimed was a car speeding at 200 kmph. Banerjee’s driver applied the brakes but her head hit the dashboard, leading to swelling and concussion, she said.
