Description :

This fish is colored silvery-grey on the upper parts with blue iridescence dorsally and a dusky black spot on the upper gill cover. The under parts are colored silvery-white. The fins are pale yellow.

Maximum length: 40.0 cm (TL), common length: 20-30 cm (TL).

Diet

Feeds on nekton, zooplankton, zoobenthos, fish eggs/larvae, bony fish, finfish and other benthic invertebrates.

Utilization

Consumed in fresh and frozen form and mostly utilized domestically.
