I watched this movie the other day. Aside from being a great good movie, i was struck at how dedicated Christian Bale had been to the role. The lengths he went to in order to accurately portray the directors vision of the character Trevor Reznik were shocking as by the time of filming he was weighing only 120 pounds (8st 8lb). Christian commented ‘it feels like a kind of victory as i did emaciate and destroy myself to the point where just watching me run is a joke as i have no leg muscles’. When asked how he did it Bale comments ‘I didn’t eat, that was it.’ I find this really inspiring and have a great respect for him and his dedication.

Will have to watch it.. although looking at his body is slightly scary to think what people put themselves through for a job.. Seems wrong! I hate to think of any permanent damage he may have caused himself for money.. seems unethical to me but then I haven’t seen the movie maybe if I watch it, it will make sense.
well the director didn’t ask him to lose so much weight. If its what Christian wanted to do then i guess its ok in a weird sort of way. Id recommend the movie. i have it on DVD if you can wait til we’re back at college 🙂
