Nanotechnology is the science and engineering of manipulating matter at the nanoscale, which is about 1 to 100 nanometers in size. A nanometer is one billionth of a meter, or about the length of ten hydrogen atoms. At this scale, the properties and behaviors of materials can change dramatically, opening up new possibilities for innovation and discovery.
