Wallace & Gromit are coming to Walkabout Mini Golf VR in new DLC
Hit the green with Wallace & Gromit: Walkabout Mini Golf brings the iconic British duo to Virtual Reality as a DLC course.
Mighty Coconut has announced a collaboration with award-winning animation studio Aardman and a new DLC course for Walkabout Mini Golf based on the world of Wallace & Gromit. The course includes 18 holes in easy and hard modes, specially designed lost golf balls to collect, a new in-game putter and themed avatars.
The Wallace & Gromit DLC course is set at 62 West Wallaby Street and is designed to immerse players in the humor and clever inventions for which Wallace & Gromit are known.
As always, the DLC will cost $3.99 and will be available for Meta Quest 3, Quest 2, Quest Pro, Playstation VR 2, Steam and Pico 4. It will also be released for the iOS version, Walkabout Mini Golf: Pocket Edition. There is no specific release date yet. So far, only summer has been mentioned.
Constantly new content for Walkabout Mini Golf
The Walkabout Mini Golf VR DLC is not the first foray into Virtual Reality for the animated heroes. With Wallace & Gromit: The Grand Getaway, a VR game for Meta Quest that also included a Mixed Reality mode, was released last year.
Walkabout Mini Golf is one of the most popular VR games of all time and has received a near-perfect five-star rating with over 11,000 reviews since its initial release on Meta Quest in Fall 2020. Developer studio Mighty Coconut has already released several DLC courses that pay homage to famous works or were created in collaboration with artists and animation studios.
A DLC based on Jim Henson's Labyrinth was released in 2022 and the iconic adventure game Myst was also immortalized in a VR mini-golf course. The most creative DLC to date was created in collaboration with the artist collective Meow Wolf. Mighty Coconut recently announced Walkabout Mini Golf: Ice Lair, the sequel to the Evil Lairs DLC series, in which you play mini golf in the headquarters of imaginary Bond villains.
