Anjuna Flea Market, best beaches in India

Flea Markets in Goa – If the words explore, swap, bargain, stuff or antique excite you. Then, you might have an itch for a flea market. Nothing quite beats the thrill of coming home with a one-of-a-kind, rare or unusual souvenir retrieved from a bin and bought for a bargain. The appeal of junk and valuable antiques thrown together and in need of sorting is enticing enough to some treasure hunters. But, the added appeal of this happening only once a week, month or even a year makes some flea markets more coveted than others. The sheer mega-size of these events can send a shopper to cloud 9. Luckily, there are some mammoth monster markets held even in Goa. They will keep you “scratching for fleas” virtually all year.

Anjuna flea market is one of those fantastic flea markets in goa. , It has been a center of the free spirit thinker’s scene since the 1960s and still continues to pull in droves of backpackers, midrange and foreign tourists from everywhere. This total globetrotter paradise held weekly near Anjuna beach, North Goa. This market is famous for it’s live music, fire dancers, food stalls, vintage artifacts and a hundreds of stalls dressed for the affair.

Every wednesday, this flea market is full of people looking to pick up things. Indeed, they also come to browse the items , if they come across once-in-a-lifetime item. This market is massive and designed to be completely eclectic. You might find yourself lost in a stand full of cameras and old technology, and right next to it is a stall full of an incredible map collection, or old foreign language books, or English hats, or just about anything else you can think of.

Moreover, week to week the things change a fair amount. And, if you go towards the end of the day you might get some exceptionally low prices as people are willing to lower rates to get rid of their wares before taking them back home with them.

Incidentally, we happen to be there. It was about 8 pm in the night and everything felt calm yet moving with a murmur. There was even a snake-charmer showing his game to the viewers. Moreover, the melody of his Pungi was making the atmosphere even more alluring. And what can I say about those sellers and shoppers who were there all the night until morning. Moreover, the music was good and the coffee strong. Being at Anjuna flea market at this hour was an absolute fun and really an unforgettable experience.
