Shakila Mahmodi is a micro business counselor. She’s originally from Afghanistan and speaks Dari/Farsi with experience in business management, entrepreneurship, customer care, marketing, and traditional as well as modern business models. She’s presently supporting business development and entrepreneurship for immigrant men and women in business including preparing business plans as well as applying for micro loans and grants. Shakila is also passionate about promoting multiculturalism and diversity in developing and introducing traditional products, light industry businesses, food businesses, and hand crafts. Prior to the IRC SBDC, she worked in and ran a family business in Afghanistan, contributed to gender development and human rights, as well as worked with private and public entities. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in law from the American University of Afghanistan.
