Bangkok Rapid Transit – BRT System of Bangkok, Thailand: A Short Survey

After years of contemplation, the city of Bangkok has implemented its first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. The BRT system is called “Bangkok Rapid Transit (BRT)” and has started operation on 29 May 2010. This report aims to describe the features of this BRT. The data obtained in this report is through first hand observation of Mr. Santhosh Kodukula of the GTZ Sustainable Urban Transport Project (SUTP) and some feedback from BMA and Krungthep Thanakhom. The system was visited during July 2010.
