RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat tells RSS workers to work more among non-Hindus
LUCKNOW: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday urged Sangh functionaries to prioritise work among non-Hindus, in what is being seen as an attempt to be seen as an inclusive organisation instead of just the torchbearer of Hindutva.
According to sources, directives to work among non-Hindus Sikhs, Christians, Muslims, Jains and other religions were given to RSS Awadh Prant functionaries during a meeting held at Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Nirala Nagar, here.
These directives were part of the "samajik sadbhav" (social amity) agenda of the meeting.
A political observer said this has been on the agenda of the Sangh Parivar for quite some time now and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been calling upon the BJP workers to work among Pasmanda Muslims.
A senior RSS functionary told TOI that even though the Sangh was already working among non-Hindus, this was the first time that its functionaries have been asked to prioritize work among that group.
