Vile Parle man jumps into sea from Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai

The identity of the man and a reason behind taking such extreme step is yet to be established.

MUMBAI: A Vile Parle man, in his 50s, jumped into the sea from the Bandra-Worli sea link in Mumbai, early on Monday morning.
The man drove a car from Bandra towards Worli. A passerby informed the police about the incdient and the Worli police team reached the spot.
Police said that the incident took place between 6am and 6.30am.
"He stopped the car and jumped into sea," said a senior police officer.

The Coast Guard and Mumbai fire brigade personnel also arrived at the spot and began a search operation. The man has not been found yet, said police.
Divers were also searching the man and a helicopter was also busy in search operation.
"We have got the car and through its registration number, we have contacted the family. We are collecting details," said the officer, without disclosing the identity of the man.
