Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti plans protest rallies

Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti announced it will conduct a series of protest rallies in front of Vidhan Sabha during state winter assembly in Nagpur staring November 30 during a press meet at Patrakar Bhavan on Monday. The organization will raise a battery of issues before the state government including the statehood for Vidarbha, loan waiver, fair pricing of produce for region’s farmers and unemployment.

NAGPUR: Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti announced it will conduct a series of protest rallies in front of Vidhan Sabha during state winter assembly in Nagpur staring November 30 during a press meet at Patrakar Bhavan on Monday. The organization will raise a battery of issues before the state government including the statehood for Vidarbha, loan waiver, fair pricing of produce for region’s farmers and unemployment.
The organization said the protests will be last of the peaceful demonstrations this year and starting Jan 1, 2017 its intensity will increase if demands are not met.
The Samiti also said it has been preparing for the mass rally since November 3 and has held over 200 meeting and assemblies to this effect.
Samiti convener Adv. Vamanrao Chatap informed that a total of 5 rallies originating within Vidarbha will converge at Yashvant Stadium, Dhantoli and then proceed to the state legislative assembly from there.
The rally, beginning from Kaleshwar, Gadchiroli on November 30 will be flagged off by forest and environment minister of Telangana Jog Ramanna, informed the Samiti.
Other rallies will start from places like Devari in Gondia, Sindhkedraja in Buldhana and Umerkhed in Yavatmal on December 1 and Jamgaon in Amravati on November 30.
