NASHIK: NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Friday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central govt for being insensitive towards the plight of farmers and common man.
Pawar, while addressing election rallies at Chopda and Bhusaval in the Raver parliamentary constituency of Jalgaon district, also appealed to the people to vote against the insensitive govt at the Centre.

During his address, Pawar attacked PM Modi for his remarks against the Gandhi family, including former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi.
“Instead of governing the country in an able manner, Modi is concentrating only on the Gandhi family that has taken significant efforts for the development of our country. Modi’s criticism of the Gandhi family, despite remembering their contributions for the nation, is not good for the country,” Pawar said.
“Instead of talking about development, Modi has been not only been targeting the Gandhi family, but also me and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray. By engaging in such criticism PM Modi is losing the dignity of the post he is holding,” he added.
He also criticised the BJP govt for failing to address the woes of the farmers and failure in tackling inflation along with other issues in the last 10 years.
“Before the 2014 elections, Modi had promised to reduce inflation by 50% in the next 50 days if he came to power. But Modi has failed to tackle it in the last 10 years as prices of fuel and LPG cylinders have doubled in the last decade. Moreover, Modi has failed in his promises of providing 2 crore jobs to the youth of the country,” Pawar said.

Stating that the BJP came to power by making false promises, Pawar said the Congress, which came to power in two states (Karnataka and Telangana in last six months), have already started fulfilling the promises made before the elections.
“In a similar manner the INDIA bloc would also fulfil all the promises if it comes to power at the Centre,” he said.
Pawar also accused the Modi-led govt of misusing power and cited examples of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren.
