RANCHI: The central committee of JMM, the largest party in the ruling alliance in the state, will meet here next Friday to discuss pressing issues of the state and take calls on strengthening its organizational structure.
In a statement, JMM said its central committee will meet at a banquet hall in Harmu and discuss pressing issues of the state, organizational status and membership drive.

Notably, JMM has landed in a tight corner ever since the Election Commission began probing the office-of-profit allegations against chief minister Hemant Soren and his lawmaker brother Basant. Moreover, complaints of misuse of public office have been filed against its veteran MLA Dipak Birua and minister Mithilesh Thakur.
In its general convention in December last, JMM re-constituted its 350-member central committee and re-elected Shibu Soren as its president for the 11th time. The party is still functioning without an executive committee for the past 10 months. “The 65-member executive committee will be elected during the meeting on Friday,” a senior JMM leader said. Soren was made JMM’s executive president in 2015 and was re-elected again in 2021.
