IIT-BHU looking forward to work with NSF of US

Varanasi: IIT-BHU is looking forward to collaborate with the National Science Foundation (NSF), USA for strengthening US-India comprehensive global strategic partnership.
According to the IIT(BHU) authorities, in a recently held Quad meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the US President Joe Biden and discussed the progress made in the Indo-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.Both the leaders discussed the US plans to join six of Technology Innovation Hubs (TIHs) formed under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) scheme to support joint research projects in artificial intelligence and data science.
The White House has recently released a readout of President Biden’s meeting with PM Modi referring to the recent US-India collaborative research program launched by Technology Innovation Hubs (supported by DST) and National Science Foundation (NSF), USA.
The Indo-US collaborative research program has been initiated by NSF and TIHs. The IDAPT Hub Foundation at IIT-BHU is one of the TIHs among the 6 hubs at IIT-Madras, IIT-Bombay, IIT-Delhi, IIT (BHU), IIT-Jodhpur and ISI-Kolkata. IDAPT Hub Foundation has committed financial support of up to Rs 10 million for this joint research initiative.
Director, IIT (BHU), Prof Pramod Kumar Jain said, “IIT (BHU) is looking forward and committed to such global collaborations in science and technology. We are encouraging programs like faculty and student exchange programs, joint research chapters etc. between the two nations. This will give momentum to emerging technologies to solve modern age problems. This initiative will forge closer links between government, academia, and Industry in areas of artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum computing, biotech, space etc.”
“IIT (BHU) is committed to be a single point source of all knowledge and information related to Data Analytics and Predictive technologies. We are trying to connect all researchers, institutes, and other centres of excellence to work symbiotically towards development of DAPT to solve major societal problems”, said Prof Vikash Kumar Dubey, dean (R&D). “Critical and emerging technologies play an important part in our daily lives and contribute greatly to economic growth. NSF-TIH collaborations will explore the use of CET in healthcare, agriculture, energy, manufacturing, telecommunications, smart cities etc,” said project director of I-DAPT HUB Foundation, Prof Rajiv Prakash.
Dr RK Singh, coordinator of IDAPT Hub Foundation, informed that applications were invited from researchers from across India which are currently being jointly screened for eligibility and merit. He said that initiatives like this will promote discussions on opportunities and challenges for bilateral CET research.
