The 27th
Kolkata International Film festival is here and the film buffs are braving the heat wave every day to watch an array of films from across the world.
This year, two films that feature
Bratya Basu are being screened in the festival. While
Biplab Bandyopadhyay’s Dhulo Bali Katha is competing in Indian Language's Films section, Sayantan Mukherjee’s
Jhorapalok is screened in Bengali Panorama section.
“In Jhorapalok, I am playing
Jibonananda Das.
It was definitely challenging work for me. And the other one, Dhulo Bali Kotha, is by my dear friend Biplab Bandyopadhyay. He is an eminent theatre personality who debuted with this film. It was again a very interesting work. I am elated that two films that I have worked in are selected and competing in this prestigious festival.
KIFf is a prestigious festival in which many eminent filmmakers and cinema personalities came. It is a pleasure to see so many people braving the summer watching films just for the love of cinema,”
Bratya told us.
