Kabir Suman, Anjan Dutt ' from foes to friends, again!

Between Kabir Suman and Anjan Dutt, it was a mutual admiration club till Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona raked up an ugly controversy over the National Film Awards. Three years later, the two are not only back to being what they were ' friends, companions, compatriots ' they are coming together in a project, Aniket Chattopadhyay's Shankar Mudi.
While Anjan is part of the cast, Suman will be scoring for the movie.Shankar Mudi revolves around a host of characters and how their lives change after a mall comes up in the neighbourhood. The film, in a way, also gives voice to small retailers against FDI. Aniket has created a handful of characters to add colour to the neighbourhood. While Kaushik Ganguly plays the title role, Anjan will be seen as a teacher. Soumitra Chatterjee, Shakuntala Barua, Kharaj Mukherjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Biswanath Basu, Kanchan Mullick and Ankita Chakraborty are part of the star cast.

I am extremely fond of Anjanda as an actor and have been wanting to work with him for long. Sumanda, on the other hand, is not just a powerful musician but has his own take on FDI. The three songs in the movie will only reflect what he feels about the issue," said Aniket.
Suman and Anjan had differences after the latter's son and a happening composer himself, Neel Dutt, bagged the award for Best Music Direction at the 59th National Film Awards for Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona. The soundtrack of the movie featured Suman's very popular composition, Gaanwala, and he felt deprived.

Though there was no communication between them for long, Anjan was among the first ones to congratulate Suman, who won the award for Best Music Direction at the 61st National Film Awards for Jaatishwar. It melted the frost that had set in after Ranjana. Said Aniket, 'Both are important parts of my film and will be involved with their respective tasks at hand."
Shooting of the film will begin in June.
