Isha Koppikar Narang: My brother and I make new traditions every Rakshabandhan

Isha Koppikar Narang and her brother Anosh are more like buddies and on an occasion like Rakshabandhan they are always kicked about meeting each other and celebrating the day with each other. Talking about her equation with her bhai, Isha says, “Anosh and I are extremely close. Rakshabandhan is like getaway for us. We share a tight bond and cannot go even two days without talking with each other.On this day, we have a lot of fun with all the old traditions and we make new ones every year. Also as an Indian, rakhi is very close to my heart.”
Recollecting her childhood days and how she celebrated the day back then, Isha shares, “As children we used to look forward to this day all through the year as it is celebrated in a big way at our house. The whole experience of binging on to sweets, tying the rakhi, getting gifts and spending time with family is etched in our memories and we try to revive it with our kids as well now.”

Isha, who can’t stop humming Bollywood’s popular bhai-behen song Phoolon Ka Taron Ka song (from Hare Rama Hare Krishna) on this day enjoys seeing her daughter Rianna happily celebrating the day with her cousin brothers. “She sees how I bond with my brother. She understands the importance of this festival. We teach her about family values and importance of respecting each other and the love that is shared by us is really all that she sees,” says Isha.
