Bollywood star Katrina Kaif has opened up about her initial hesitation towards accepting the role in the film 'New York'. She admitted to feeling reluctant at first due to her previous experience of having her role cut in Bachna Ae Haseeno.Katrina confessed that she found New York lacking the grandeur and extravagant song sequences she was accustomed to, and initially perceived it as too artistic for her liking. However, she shared that her perspective changed once filming concluded, indicating a shift in her mindset towards the project.
During an interview with Mid-Day, Katrina revealed that she had originally been cast in Bachna Ae Haseeno. However, her scenes were ultimately trimmed due to the film's length constraints, resulting in her role being axed altogether. This marked her initial collaboration with Yash Raj Films, and upon learning about the script alteration, she admitted to feeling disheartened at first.
Following her previous project, she was offered a role in a film called "New York". Initially hesitant due to its departure from the mainstream song-and-dance formula she was accustomed to, Katrina Kaif had reservations about the artistic direction of the film. However, Salman Khan, having worked with the director Kabir Khan previously, persuaded her to consider the opportunity. Despite her initial doubts, Katrina eventually embraced the challenge and agreed to take on the role in "New York".
The actor reluctantly accepted the film offer and arrived on set in New York with a hint of reluctance. Comparing it to the grand reception of "Singh Is King," they found themselves surrounded by what seemed like a modest setup, devoid of the lavish lights, bustling crew, and grandeur they expected. They couldn't help but feel perplexed, questioning the apparent lack of scale and wondering about the absence of a large production team.
She went on to explain that despite her initial reservations, the experience of filming in New York quickly transformed into something beyond her expectations. By the time the shooting schedule concluded, it had become the most memorable and fulfilling experience of her life at that point. The emotional attachment grew so strong that when it was time to leave, she and her fellow cast and crew members found themselves in tears, reluctant to part ways. The bonds forged during the production became some of the closest friendships she has maintained to this day.
