MS Bhaskar turns protagonist with Arun K Prasad’s Akkaran

In an illustrious career spanning 35 years, MS Bhaskar has played many memorable roles. But director Arun K Prasad’s Akkaran will showcase the veteran as a protagonist for the first time. Touted to be a crime thriller, the film revolves around a father’s fight to unravel the truth behind his daughter’s murder.
Talking about the film, the director says, “MS Bhaskar plays a kusthi teacher and father to two daughters.His life turns upside down when one of his daughters is found murdered one day. How he battles the odds against powerful people and how he unravels the truth is the crux of the film.”
Venba, of Katradhu Tamizh fame, plays MS Bhaskar’s elder daughter in the film and Priyadarshini plays the younger one. Kabali Vishvanth and Namo Narayanan play crucial roles in the film. The film, set in Madurai, will showcase a totally new side of MS Bhaskar, states Arun. “MS Bhaskar is a powerhouse performer, and I am extremely happy to have worked with him in my debut film. He will be shown in a completely different light.”
