Aiming to provide faster and convenient connectivity to passengers travelling between Delhi and Mumbai, Railways is introducing a new Special Rajdhani Express between Delhi & Mumbai from Monday.

NEW DELHI: Aiming to provide faster and convenient connectivity to passengers travelling between Delhi and Mumbai, Railways is introducing a new Special Rajdhani Express between Delhi & Mumbai from Monday.
Flexi Fare will not be applicable in this train.
“Fare for this train in 2nd AC & 3rd AC will be around 19% cheaper than the maximum flexi fare of corresponding classes of existing Mumbai Rajdhani,” said an official.

The transporter is already running two Rajdhanis and more than 30 mail/express trains between two metros.
With the introduction of new Rajdhani Express, the travel time will be reduced from the existing time of about 15 hrs. 50 minute to 13 hours 55 minutes which means a saving of around 2 hours in journey time.
The train will be hauled by two locomotives for better acceleration, deceleration and higher speed.
An official said, “The new service is planned to be commenced as a tri-weekly special service with only one rake and shall provide faster rail connectivity between Delhi and Mumbai.”

He added, “It will save time of the passengers. It will enable the passengers to avoid peak-hours of traffic. Passengers will not need to get freshen up in the train enabling them to have cozy mornings. Passengers can attend offices as per their routine.”
This train will have stoppages at Kota, Vadodara and Surat stations only.
