The Himalayan range is home to some of the most beautiful high altitude valleys. Spread across the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Sikkim, these picturesque valleys are places you need to visit.

Gurez Valley in Kashmir
Surprisingly off the tourist radar, this valley sits pretty on the banks of Kishan-Ganga river. The valley is remote and hence still pristine. Come here for the stunning mountain views and the lush green valleys with alpine forest and meadows that go on for miles.

Nubra Valley in Leh
Located in the Union Territory of Ladakh, Nubra Valley is one of the most popular valleys in this part of the Himalayan range. The cold desert of Nubra Valley is home to the Bactrian camels, and they are fun to watch! Also, the night sky out here is pretty amazing. So come for some stargazing?

Gulmarg Valley in Kashmir
Translated as the Meadow of Flowers, the valley's scenic beauty is what draws in visitors not only from India but also world over. In summers, Gulmarg is all about stunning green meadows with varieties of wildflowers growing everywhere and, in winters, Gulmarg is a great skiing destination. Of course, this place is great throughout the year.

Parvati Valley in Himachal Pradesh

Tirthan Valley in Himachal Pradesh
Tirthan Valley is also located in the Kullu district and is one of the most visited valleys in Himachal. The valley gets its name from the Tirthan river which flows through the valley. From here, you get some of the best views of the Great Himalayan National Park.

Betaab Valley in Kashmir
This valley in Kashmir gets its name from the very popular movie Betaab, which was mostly filmed here. The green meadows, rivers and the snow covered mountains at a short distance is what makes the valley so picture-perfect.
