A real architectural delight in Bikaner, Lalgarh Palace was built by Maharaja Ganga Singh in the early 20th century in memory of his father Maharaja Lal Singh Ji. The red sandstone building is a stunning example of the architectural brilliance of the modern Rajput clan. Nuances of Mughal, Rajput and European architectural elements can be seen in the mega structure. This place is now turned into a luxury hotel but it has not lost is tourist value. The palace is home to Sadul Museum which exhibits the heads of various animals killed during hunting sessions and a collection of trophies of rulers of city. The palace has another museum in form of Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum which is a custodian of many historical remains. You can spot artefacts like German artist Mueller’s large oil paintings, sculptures of various dynasties and coin collection. It also has an astonishing display of the remains of Pre-Harappan days.
