What is BRT?

BRT (or Bus Rapid Transit) is a high-capacity bus service that will deliver fast and efficient service and will feature:

  • Longer hours of service and more frequent buses.
  • Dedicated lanes for buses to prevent traffic delays.
  • Buses that receive longer green lights at signals to stay on schedule.
  • Fare payment at station and not on buses, to eliminate wait times.
  • Enhanced stations with updated bus arrival displays, Wi-Fi, and raised platforms for easy boarding that is handicap accessible.
  • Bigger custom buses that will hold more passengers, with lower floors for easy loading, bike racks for storage, and more.
