Pathriamanal is a small island  occupied in the middle of  Vembanad Lake.The island is situated  between Thaneermukkom in Alappuzha district and Kumarakom in Kottayam district..The meaning of the  word ‘Pathiramanal’ which means ‘sands of night’.

Here we can see  varities of birds.It is home to many rare varieties of migratory birds about  91 local species of birds and 50 migratory birds.

The island gives  a  forest look by  thick groves of coconut palms, mango trees, mangroves, bushes.Due to its calm and client presence every body will love this place.

ISLAND MANAGEMENT

It was under kerala tourism department.Like other natural tourist  place,it is also a plastic free zone.

TIME TO VISIT

Only allowed in  day time hours.There  is no accomodation is available here.

HOW TO REACH ISLAND

We can only reach here, via backwater cruises, speed boat and motor boat.

1.5 km from Muhamma boat jetty

13 km from Alapuzha.

5 km Kumarakom   jetty close by Baker Bungalow .

4 km towards northwest.
