How do you get to Central London from Gatwick Airport?
There are several alternatives for getting to Central London from Gatwick Airport.
These include taking the Gatwick Express train, using a coach or bus service, or hiring a taxi or private car.
Traveling from Gatwick Airport to Central London by train
With direct links to 120 railway stations and more than 700 stations, London Gatwick offers passengers the finest rail connections of any airport in Britain.
Gatwick Airport is currently served by four train operators:
- Gatwick Express train
- Thameslink
- Southern
- Great Western Railway
The most popular option is the Gatwick Express train, a non-stop train service that provides a fast and straight trip to Victoria Station in under 30 minutes. Thameslink links Gatwick airport with Brighton on the south coast, Central London via London Bridge, St. Pancras International, Blackfriars, and Farringdon, north to Bedford and east to Cambridge and Peterborough. Additionally, Thameslink offers a direct rail connection to Airport Parkway.
Southern provides regular train services throughout London and the South East, including several neighbourhood stations and London Victoria, London Bridge, and Clapham Junction, Brighton, Southampton, Eastbourne and Portsmouth.
Great Western Railway also operates services between London Gatwick and Reading, via Redhill, Reigate and Guildford.
Traveling from Gatwick Airport to London by coach or bus
The National Express coach operates daily services between Gatwick Airport and London Victoria. National Express offers drop-off and pick-up services at the North and South Terminals from and to various locations in London.
In addition, local buses serve nearby towns and villages as well as regional and national coach services to London and other locations, such as Heathrow, Central London, Bristol, Brighton, Birmingham, Oxford, Cambridge and Norwich.
You can also choose Megabus, a well-known transport provider of affordable coach travel throughout the UK, which offers services to both North and South Terminals from numerous locations, including London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Cardiff, and Canterbury.
The Airline from Oxford Bus company also offers convenient transport services with great comfort, including WIFI, legroom and power sockets to various destinations in the UK.
Traveling from Gatwick airport by taxi/private transfer
