This album is incredible. Hilary Duff has a pleasant, girly voice, and she has amazing, relatable songs. She hit a home run with album. I liked all of the songs, although some are clearly better than others.
Best songs are:

Fly 10/10: This song carries a great message and beautiful lyrics. I like to listen to this when I need to be cheered up. One of my favorites.

Hide Away 9.5/10: Great message, and very easy to relate to. It asks why we hide away what we feel.

Who's that Girl? 10/10: I absolutely love this song. It talks about someone you love replacing you with someone else.

Una Duff giovanissima e alle prime armi con il mondo della discografia. Questo secondo album "Hilary Duff" è decisamente più maturo del primo, ma rimane comunque molto "giovanile".
Rispetto a "Metamorphosis" possiamo vedere la voglia di crescere dell'artista, le canzoni sono un pò più impegnative e meno stupidine.
17 canzoni potenti dal punto di vista dell'energia e che si lasciano ascoltare con molta tranquillità.
"Fly" e "Someone's Watching Over Me" sono le più belle anche se, a mio avviso, la pecca del disco è che manca un pezzo che potesse essere adatto per le radio e che potesse ottenere successo a livello di classifica.
Da notare gli esperimenti riuscitissimi di "Mr.James Dean" e "Rock This World" due pezzi che si avvicinano molto al rock e si allontanano dal suo stile musicale.
Ovviamente, per un pezzo di grande successo dobbiamo aspettare "Wake Up" dalla compilation disc "Most Wanted", ma rimane comunque un album piacevole da ascoltare, mette tanta energia e ti fa iniziare la giornata nel migliore dei modi possibili.
Un Must per chi ama Hilary!!

Nach dem Superalbum "Metamorphosis" war ich natürlich auf die Nachfolgescheibe sehr gespannt. Nach dem ersten Abspielen war ich einfach sprachlos. Ich hatte mit Vielem gerechnet, aber nicht mit einer solch gigantischen Rockplatte. War "Metamorphosis" eher ein wunderschönes Popalbum, zeigt sich Hilary auf der mit ihrem Namen selbst betitelten Platte als äußerst abwechselungsreiche Rocksängerin. Titel wie Rock this world (erinnert sehr an den Aerosmith Titel Walk this way), Mr James Dean, Haters, Do you want me, The Getaway sind tolle Rocknummern. Man merkt, daß mit Jason Hook (kommt aus der Band des ex-Mötley Crüe Leadsängers Vince Neil) ein Hard Rock Musiker die Leadgitarre in Hilarys Begleitband übernommen hat. Weird, Shine, I am und die restlichen Titel sind unterschiedlichste Power-Balladen. Einflüsse von Fleetwood Mac und Foreigner sind in vielen Titeln zu hören Zwei Titel sind noch herausragend: The last song ist eine sehr ruhige, kurze, akustische Ballade und natürlich die neue Single Fly. Fly ist das absolute Highlight der Platte. Man muss Fly jedoch mehrfach hören, um das ganze musikalische Spektrum dieser Rockperle zu erleben. Auf der japanischen Ausgabe sind neben einer unplugged Version von Who's that girl als Bonus noch die Duett-Single Our lips are sealed und der Who-Klassiker My Generation enthalten. Wie singt Hilary in I am: I am special, I am beautiful, I am powerful. Man kann dies Alles nur ganz dick unterstreichen. Hilary ist auf dem besten Wege zu einer ganz großen Rocksängerin. Und hoffentlich kommt sie bald live nach Deutschland!
