Sponge filters offer reliability and hassle-free operation. With no moving parts, all you need is an air pump with some airline tubing, and you've got a filter that is fully contained within your aquarium. Sponge filters are completely reusable, don't need any replacement cartridges, and last for several years. Plus, they are gentle enough for betta fish, baby fry, shrimp, and other slow-moving species. To optimize the sponge filter’s performance, we’ve included an air collar that replaces the need for an air stone and minimizes bubbles coming out of the side of the sponge. The air collar produces smaller bubbles that lessen noise and create more continuous current. If you need greater water circulation, use the included Easy Flow accessory that curves the uplift tube so that water flows out of the sponge filter horizontally across the water surface and around the aquarium.

The Aquarium Co-Op sponge filter is designed using coarse foam so that it can go many weeks between cleanings. The weighted base will immediately sink to the bottom of your aquarium, so no more floating up after a water change or initial installation. Also, the green plastic helps hide algae and blend in with your live aquarium plants.

Works great

The easy flow kit uplift tube makes significantly more current in the tank. I'm assuming that the longer uplift tube also improves the flow through the sponge filter. Genius of Corey to make such an improvement to a product that, on the surface, was already a finished product.

Well thought out design - provides great flow. Sponge density allows for much better filtration than most other makes.

The Filter with a multi use handle for easy placing and maximizing oxygen

I really like these filters. I bought nine, a mix of the four sizes, which I use with my seven aquariums (5, 8, 20, 24, 36, 55, and 100 gallons - rectangular, bowed, and spherical).

Each filter comes in box with a set of pipes that allows the user to set the depth. Ideally you want the exit to be near the surface. There is a curve in the top pipe that allows you to aim the water stream across the surface thus maximizing the splash and oxygen absorption. The combined pipes also act as a handle for placing the filter between cleanings without submerging your whole arm. The pipes are green and they blend in with the foliage.

The filters were all used as auxiliary filters. The coarse sponge is amazing. In a matter of hours I couldn't believe how much material was captured.

I have all four size filters. The pipes are interchangeable between the filters. So having 9 filters creates a tinker toy set of extra pipes that can be used interchangeably and I can mix and store the unused parts together.

They are so simple to place and remove that they can be used temporarily to provide a quick fix to filter after a violent water change.

Just get them.

I have a few items I have bought such as the automatic feeder and the sponge filter ---- I am very happy with the stuff I get and I can't find in stores and everything does exactly what it is supposed to do. Love aquarium coop
