Gayatri Mantra

The Gayatri Mantra holds special significance in Hindu mythology as it forms a part of many religious texts. It first appeared in the Rig Veda and is also mentioned in many classics such as the Bhagavad Gita and the Manusmriti.

It is said that this mantra was created by Guru Vishvamitra and is revered by devotees all over the country. The mantra is often chanted during the Janehu ceremony of young men in accordance with Hinduism.

The Gayatri Mantra was named such because it was composed in the Vedic meter that is known as Gayatri. It is addressed to Savitri who is said to be the Goddess of the five elements that together form the human body.

As per astrology, this mantra is dedicated to the Sun God. Astrologers suggest that chanting the Gayatri Mantra strengthens the position of Sun in the horoscope chart of an individual and helps in their career development.

Chanting Gayatri Mantra

Gayatri Mantra is a universal prayer that praises the deity that represents the five elements of life. By chanting this mantra, we adore the deity, meditate upon her divine presence in every human being and pray to her to strengthen our intellect and make us a better person.

This mantra is like a summarization of the Vedas and refers to the divine knowledge that sharpens the mind of an individual. Reciting this mantra will elevate your mental faculties and make you more aware of your surroundings.

Through the astrological point of view, this mantra is said to pacify the sun and bring it to a favourable position in your birth chart. According to astrologers, the sun is a divine source of energy that shares its energy with others and takes in the immense heat produced while dissipating this energy.

Thus, the sun only gives and never demands anything in return. Therefore, by chanting the Gayatri mantra we give recognition and respect to the sun for its selfless nature and express our gratitude. Also, through the mantra, we ask the sun to brighten up our world and dispel the darkness that surrounds us.
