Peaches Geldof, a British model, writer and TV personality, and the second daughter of Irish singer-songwriter Bob Geldof, died Monday afternoon at her home in South East England. She was 25.
Police responded to Geldof’s home in Kent on Monday after receiving a distress call and she was later pronounced dead, according to BBC News. “At this stage, the death is being treated as an unexplained and sudden death,” the Kent police said in a statement.
On Monday evening, the Geldof family released a statement confirming Peaches’ death. “Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken.”
Geldof was married to Thomas Cohen, lead singer of post-punk band S.C.U.M., with whom she had two sons under the age of two. She was previously married to Chester French drummer, Max Drummey.

Along with her husband and sons, Geldof is survived by her father, two sisters (Fifi and Pixie Geldof) and a half-sister (Tiger Hutchence-Geldof).
Geldof’s mother, Paula Yates, died in 2000 of a drug overdose when she was 11. Peaches’ final entry on Instagram, posted on Sunday, is a childhood photo featuring her and Yates, simply titled “Me and my mum.”
