Twinkle Khanna reveals she had to ‘introduce herself’ after she enrolled for Post Graduation in London University : Bollywood News

Actress turned author Twinkle Khanna decided to pursue her studies further recently. Khanna, who is not only the star wife of Akshay Kumar, daughter of superstars Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, and mother of two, decided to continue with her Masters degree in London University. The former actress enrolled for the course at the Goldsmith University in 2022 and recently during an interview with Hello Magazine, Khanna revealed that no one recognized her there and also opened up about how she made close friends for life.

During the candid interaction, the very straightforward Mrs. Funnybones also mentioned how she introduced herself by making a joke of her name. “I don’t think anyone in my class did (recognize me). It was good because there weren’t any other Indians there, except for one girl with a Kashmiri background from Chicago. Like everyone else, I had to create a bio, stand up and introduce myself. I had to come up with a joke about my name, a literary one. Fortunately, Jhumpa Lahiri wrote The Interpreter of Maladies and there’s a character named Twinkle. That became the perfect joke,” she said.

In the same interaction, Twinkle also shared her apprehensions about striking a friendship with her classmates. However, the actress expressed that she was lucky enough to make some close friends. She added, “I was worried about who I would walk with in the corridors and who I would have lunch with. When the professor assigned three of us a presentation, we decided to have lunch together. We quickly became friends, and from then on, I never ate lunch alone again. I made a lot of new and good friends.”

Twinkle Khanna, who has acted in over ten films, decided to quit her acting career after tying the knot with Akshay Kumar in 2001. The actress went on to pursue her love for writing and kicked off by writing columns revealing her witty side.
