Talented actress, Lillete Dubey is known for her glamourous charisma and acting stint. She has been a part of various iconic films, such as Baghban, Kal Ho Na Ho, Gadar, Housefull among others. She has been a part of the Barry John’s theatre group in Delhi, and as a result, has the experience of working with a plethora of actors. And in a recent interview, she spoke about her experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan, with whom she has worked not only in films, but way back in her theatre days as well.
In a recent interview with Cyrus Broacha, Lillete Dubey recalls working with Bollywood’s heartthrob, Shah Rukh Khan right from his initial days. For the unversed, the duo had been fellow mates at the iconic Barry John’s acting group in Delhi. She recalled SRK was a young and totally energetic actor back in the days and had a lot of charisma. In her words:
“Shah Rukh was just delightful even when he was young. He was always on ‘50 Red Bulls’ like that kind of energy. He had a lot of charisma. Of course, he was talented and had a super amount of energy.”

Going further in the interview, Lillete recalled how whenever she had worked with Shah Rukh Khan, the latter had always come across as a kind and respectful co-actor, who treats everyone with the same amount of warmth and affection. Moreover, she added how even now, whenever she has a chance to cross paths with SRK, he still keeps up his mannered and gentle behaviour. Heaping praises on him, Lillete mentioned:
“I must say Shah Rukh’s always very, very nice. He is very sweet, very affectionate, very warm, and very loving whenever he meets me. I have to say.”
In the concluding segment of the interview, Lillete spoke about how during the good old theatre days, her colleague and co-actor, SRK never wished to become an actor in the first place. Joining the theatre group as a young enthusiast, Lillete recalled how SRK proclaimed he would want to become a rockstar instead.

For the unversed, unlike most other actors starting young in the film industry, Lillete, on the other hand, had joined the same during her 40s. However, her stardom was never affected by this choice, and she went on to create a name for herself. Speaking about the same in an earlier interview with ETimes, Lillete had mentioned that she accidentally became a mainstream actor, only when her husband shifted his base to Mumbai for work.
