About IIT BHU

Founded in the year 1919 as Banaras Engineering college, later in the year 1968, it became IIT BHU (Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University). It is a public Technical University which has 15 departments, 3 schools, and more than 70+ courses in U.G., P.G, and doctorate level.

It is one of the oldest technological universities in Asia Located in Varanasi (Banaras), Uttar Pradesh, India.

Events And Activities

Gymkhana:

Gymkhana is the hub for all extracurricular activities that takes place in the institute. It primarily functions through five councils as mentioned below:

  3. Science and Technology council
  4. Cultural council
  5. Games and sports council

Technex:

This is a techno-management festival conducted in IIT BHU every year. It is also known as Asia’s oldest festival.

Institute Magazine:

This is a yearly magazine which covers in-depth Stories of events conducted, technical advancements and many more. This magazine also helps students to give an overall glimpse about IIT BHU. This magazine is prepared by a group of 20 students consisting of one main student as student editor.

MCIIE:

Malaviya centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (MCIIE) consists of various programmes as mentioned below which gives an opportunity for students for producing successful firms that helps the program let be financially feasible.
