The identical Sprouse twins, now 31, have been acting in Hollywood their whole lives (literally)! They landed their first job on screen when they were just one year old and have had remarkable staying power in the thirty years since. Like many sets of identical twin child stars, the duo got their start in acting by taking turns playing the role of one character. But eventually they got to share the screen as TV Twins, and now their roles as Zack (Dylan) and Cody (Cole) in multiple Disney Channel series including The Suite Life of Zack and Cody are probably their best-known parts.

After their time on Disney from 2005 to 2011, Dylan and Cole took a break from acting to pursue a college degree—both attending New York University. While the twins have not acted alongside each other since graduating from school, they have both gone on to play major roles in several notable projects. We hit the archives and dug up our favorite photos from the Sprouses' acting career—watch them grow up before your very eyes.

Remember that iconic episode of Friends where Ross dressed up as the Holiday Armadillo to teach his son Ben about Hanukkah? Ben, the son of Ross and his ex-wife Carol, was portrayed by just Cole. In his first role without his brother, Cole appeared in seven episodes of the series until he was later replaced by older twins as his character aged on the show.
