Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's former team mate and cricket legend Javed Miandad on Monday announced his support for the ongoing protest in Islamabad.
“Imran Khan is a man of great integrity. No one can challenge his honesty and his clear intentions. He has an impeccable record and I fully support him in his endeavor to enlighten and change Pakistan," Miandad said.
"His heart is in the right place. The current leadership is incapable of running the country and the so-called kings who have been ruling us for ages need to be replaced with loyal and capable leaders.”
Commenting on dynastic politics, Miandad pointed out that even in countries where families ruled, a proper system of governance was in place and the children taking over from their parents had to go through a strict preparatory regime.
"Take the example of the United Kingdom, Prince Charles was sent for Army training and even his sons spent time learning various skills that help prepare a ruler. If any of the family members are suspected to have indulged in corruption, they are shunned from mainstream politics".
Miandad lamented that a handful of families have been ruling the country. He insisted that Imran's endeavors are aimed at changing the system and he remains to be a hope for the citizens of the country.

Thumbs Up, He is absolutely right, no one can question his honesty and integrity, His opponents say that he lacks experience, yes he lacks experience of corruption. We need honest people to rule our country and honest people will find way to take this country forward .

its true that pakistan has been ruled by few families due to lack of awareness of people / masses. People need to know the difference between rulers and their true representations in parliament.

What authenticity does the opinion of Jawed Miandad have when there is evidence that Miandad was involved in the immoral practice of match-fixing. The Justice Qayyum Report on allegations of match-fixing in Pakistani team makes particular mention of this; "[Sarfraz Nawaz] was of the opinion that the 1987 World Cup semi final against Australia at Lahore was fixed and the main culprits were Javed Miandad and two other players".

WHY NOW?? Many of us have lost confidence in IK due to the fact that he has joined the PAT and has changed his direction too many times. We did not vote for him that he in secret joins a cult that is not in line with what he said during his election campaign.
He lost even more popularity last night when he asked his followers or rather the followers of PAT to move to PM house. Sitting in his container and Qadri sitting his pullet proof cars they were charging the poor people that got the beating. No country would allow such a mob moving towards their Government building. So your safaris for Imran Khan is too late.

People of Pakistan should rally round Imran Khan to establish a Righteous society.If Imram Khan intent to achieve any thing he would achieve as he lifted the Cricket World Cup and he brought glory to Pakitan. After acheiving world cup victory he established a Cancer Hospital in his mother's memory. Like wise he has the love for the down trodden people of Pakistan that is the reason one time his team mate Javed Miandad backing him in his venture.We wish him all success.

Here is an idea: How about Imran Khan and this Qadri guy, go on a hunger strike until death if they so truly believe in their cause of corruption and rigging. Democracy is a journey not a destination for a nation. It takes years of hard but peaceful work both in legislature and non-violent protests. Guns, stick, stones and bayonets lead to anarchy and leads your further away from democracy. Putting women, children and angry young men in harms way is a selfish way of attaining democracy.

Imran Khan is going in the right direction and needs to maintain his distance from people like Hashmi and other similar flip flop ideology people. Also he can get lot of support from minorities if he take a strong stand against Talibans and similar extremists.

Cricket is just a game. It is not the same as running a country. Cricket is not a Jang-e-Badar. If one cannot differentiate this simple thing, how one can handle complex issues? Imran Khan's honesty is disclosed by Javed Hashmi. Shame on you Miandad for endorsing a renegade.

"His heart is in the right place ...". Dr. Miandad, it takes a little more than an honest person to perform in democracy. Your mind has to be in the right place too. It does nation no good, when a bund of "honest" anarchists come out on the streets with no plan in mind. Non on can deny the role of honesty, but one has to be a practical person.
Also, your example of Prince Charles shows how ignorant you are about world affairs. Prince Charles and his family, having royal lineage, hold ceremonial posts in England and do not run affairs of the government. I have respect for you as a cricketer, but let's not push your luck in a direction where you have no knowledge of.

Great article. Takes me back to Pakistan history when I was growing. My parents are from Sindh. I enjoy knowing about Pakistan. I learnt quite a bit when my parents were alive. I further learnt when growing.

Jeyoo Javed Miandad. The only qualification for a PM that Pakistan needs today is an honest and fair person. Imran Khan, with all his shortcomings, and there are many, fits that bill.

Miandad has calculated his belated strategy to enter politics at quite critical juncture , or in case if he is just aiding the people with his verbal support or to the supporter of Imran Khan or intend to join the Imran Khan PTI, it's yet to be seen , but anyway he has now issued a certificate of morality or honesty to the general public of Pakistan who may have been still indecisive, ---- Imran Khan is a person that does not care much about encouragement or flattery, hope jawed miadad would do good to Imran Khan in a longer time.
